Introducing our New Executive Director

Carla Hill

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt the power of the arts in my life and the impact it had on me and others – as an actor, an audience member, arts executive, and board member. It was that love of the arts that led to a diverse and exciting 30-year career path stretching from the stage to serving as President/CEO of the West Michigan Symphony in Muskegon, Michigan.

When I retired in 2017, I relocated from Michigan to Montana to be closer to family and to explore new ideas. For the past three years, I’ve served as board president of Bozeman’s Verge Theater and became more attuned to how the arts and this community intersect.

I’m excited about the opportunity as executive director to bring my leadership and nonprofit experience, a passion for chamber music, and artistic vision to an organization that supports and advances the arts through music and education in the communities they serve. Along with the MCMS’s exceptional artistic director, Angella Ahn, and a highly engaged board of directors, I join an outstanding organization that stated in a recent strategic plan “to advance chamber music by delivering the highest quality performances, and expanding ongoing cultural relevance for a diverse public.”
